Our Programs

DWI/DUI

Pathways’ DWI/DUI programs are intended to provide education or treatment for individuals charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) or driving while under the influence (DUI). For admission to either DWI/DUI program, each applicant must first undergo a clinical assessment with a Pathways certified addiction counselor to determine the most appropriate program for him or her.

All programs meet the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration’s (MVA) DWI/DUI education and treatment requirements.

12-Hour DWI/DUI Education Program

(Weekly/Six weeks)
Taught by a certified addiction counselor, the 12-hour DWI/DUI Education Program is designed to help DWI and DUI offenders increase their knowledge about how alcohol affects driving skills. Participants will learn to identify their own drinking and driving patterns and develop plans to reduce the probability of future DWI and DUI behavior.

Requirements for admission include:
  • Pathways clinical assessment
  • Initial drug screen and breathalyzer
  • No other illicit drug use

26-Week DWI/DUI Treatment Program

(Weekly/26 weeks)
The 26-week DWI/DUI Treatment Program is designed for those who have a more extensive history of alcohol use and/or legal consequences related to their drinking. Conducted by a certified/licensed clinician, the program provides participants with tools to assist them in changing high-risk behaviors and identifying negative consequences associated with drinking and driving.

Requirements for admission include:
  • Pathways clinical assessment
  • Initial drug screen and breathalyzer
  • Willingness to submit to the program’s random drug screens
